Aristotle's poetics

1.  How far do you agree with Plato’s objection to freedom of expression and artistic liberty enjoyed by creative writers? Name the texts (novels, plays, poems, movies, TV soaps etc which can be rightfully objected and banned with reference to Plato’s objections)

Plato was a great philosopher and critic. Plato was concerned about art in not an artistic manner but philosophical manner because he was a philosopher. He believed that ultimate reality was available to the philosophy from which we can  saw things beyond illusion

According to Plato drama was harmful because in acting, a person adopts the behaviour of another character who is often immoral and has vise personality . Art created a moral degrading effect.

Yes, I agree with Plato's objection to freedom of expression and artistic Liberty enjoyed by creative writers. Plato is right because there are so many movies ,TV serials, series which are creating bad impression in our mind and also bad impact in our society.

There are some TV serials, magazines, web series and movies also which are not good for our mind. For example baalveer ,khatron ke Khiladi etc these all programs or TV serials or movies are sometimes they're  dangerous for children and also for young generation.

2.  With reference to the literary texts you have studied during B.A. programme, write brief note on the texts which followed Aristotelian literary tradition (i.e. his concept of tragedy, catharsis, tragic hero with hamartia etc)

During my B.A , I have  studied many tragic drama Great  Shakespearean tragedies "Hamlet ", "Othello" ,  "Macbeth and Arthur Miller's "All my sons"  are tragedies  following  the Aristotleon tradition.

According to Aristotle  "The imitation of an action that is serious and also has a moving magnitude, complete in itself ; in appropriate and preservable language in a dramatic rather than narrative from ; with incidents arousing  pity and fear,  where with to accomplish a catharsis emotions "

 3. With reference to the literary texts you have studied during B.A. programme, write brief note on the texts which did NOT follow Aristotelian literary tradition. (i.e. his concept of tragedy, catharsis, tragic hero with hamartia etc.)

  'The Hairy Ape'
which did not follow the aristotlian literary tradition is the novel. This text is a modern tragedy. In this text the protagonist is a yank .He has no harmatia. As he is not a man of high rank. There are the action not external but internal
